The Office of the Chief of Staff, Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State, in partnership with a non-governmental organization launched a School Feeding and Educational Support Initiative for pupils in Okwuohia community schools.
The program, jointly organized by Mrs. Angela Madumere (née Ogueri), founder of the NGO and the LGA office was held in commemoration of the memorial of the late matriarch of the Ogueri family, Lolo Bridget Ogueri, a respected academician, supervisor of schools and revered public servant whose legacy continues to inspire educational advancement and community service.
This event took place on Tuesday, 11 November 2025 in Okwuohia, Obowo of Imo State.
Speaking on the initiative, the Chief of Staff, Rev. Emeka Onyeberechi, described the program as a community-driven effort to complement government interventions in promoting quality education and child welfare.
He noted that the exercise aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes human capital development, social investment and the holistic well-being of Nigerian children.
The initiative provided nutritious meals for pupils and distributed writing materials to enhance learning, motivation and classroom participation among schoolchildren in central and community schools within Okwuohia, Obowo.

Rev. Onyeberechi emphasized that the event not only serves as a platform for supporting young learners but also as a way of honouring the memory of a woman who devoted her life to shaping young minds and strengthening the education sector in Obowo.
The School Feeding and Educational Support Initiative is expected to be expanded to other parts of Obowo as part of ongoing efforts to promote inclusive education and community development.
