Galatasaray has officially confirmed that Nigerian striker Victor James Osimhen sustained a moderate left hamstring strain during the World Cup Qualifiers playoff final against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Sunday night.
The 26-year-old was replaced at halftime by Jerome Adams Akor.
According the Turkish giants, the Super Eagles talisman underwent an MRI scan after returning to Turkey.

Galatasaray released an update on the striker’s fitness on their official website on Wednesday November 20.
“In the MRI examination performed today at our sponsor hospital Acibadem, our football player Victor Osimhen, a moderate level of strain (strain and bleeding) was detected in his left posterior muscle and treatment has started”, reads the statement.
Osimhen is expected to miss Galatasaray’s clash with Genclerbirligi on Saturday.

The striker is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks as he works his way back to full fitness.
