
The Government of Oyo State has converted 1,591 ad hoc local council workers across the state into permanent staff.
Oyo State Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Chief Dotun Oyelade, disclosed this in a statement, stating that the development is in view of Governor Seyi Makinde’s approval in October 2024.
Oyelade expressed that; “The governor had approved the conversion of the ad hoc staff in the service of the 33 councils in the state.
“This was to bridge the gap in the workforce at the local government level, and due process was followed during the conversion exercise.”
The Commissioner therefore added that those that are affected in regards to the development, are to collect their appointment letters at the Local Government Service Commission between Monday and Thursday.
