Pastor Bolaji Idowu Detained Over Alleged ₦1.5 Billion Fraud

The Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Center (HICC), Bolaji Idowu, has been detained by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) of the Nigerian Police in Abuja over allegations of ₦1.5 billion fraud.

Popularly known for his “Next-Level Prayer Conference,” Pastor Idowu is being investigated for alleged involvement in real estate fraud and money laundering.

According to police sources at the FCID, the pastor will spend the night in custody as the probe continues.

“The case emanated from one of his pastors who allegedly duped several individuals in a real estate scheme,” a senior police official disclosed.

Investigations reportedly traced billions of naira from the scheme to the church’s accounts and subsequently to Pastor Idowu’s personal account.

The police source confirmed, “Pastor Bolaji Idowu has been arrested and is currently being grilled in Abuja over real estate fraud and money laundering.”

Pastor Idowu, who founded HICC in December 2003, has grown the ministry to attract over 70,000 worshippers both online and in-person, with locations in Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

His popular “Next-Level Prayers” platform encourages participants to build a consistent prayer life.

However, neither Pastor Idowu nor his representatives have issued an official statement on the matter.
