The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State Chairmen Forum has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of systematically intimidating its leaders.
They warned that such actions threaten Nigeria’s democratic fabric.
In a statement jointly signed on Today by Dr. Tony Aziegbemi (Chairman) and Sir Edward Percy Masha (Secretary), the Forum criticized the APC for allegedly engaging in “undemocratic, desperate and systematic efforts” to coerce PDP governors, senators and members of the National and State Assemblies into defecting.
The statement revealed that the forum convened a crucial meeting on Monday, October 14, 2025, at the PDP FCT Secretariat in Abuja, under the chairmanship of Sir Edward Percy Masha in his capacity as Acting Secretary.
The forum strongly condemned the ruling party, describing its alleged actions as “an assault on democracy” and a dangerous step toward creating a one-party state.
They called on Nigerians to collectively resist such maneuvers.
The forum expressed concern over PDP members allegedly working with APC-linked interests to derail the National Convention.
The gathering discussed issues affecting party unity, reviewed preparations for the National Elective Convention scheduled for November 15–16, 2025 and assessed the state of the opposition across the country.
The PDP State Chairmen Forum’s statement follows a series of high-profile resignations and defections.
