PDP Caleb Mutfwang Wins Plateau Gubernatorial Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced the Plateau State Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Caleb Mutfwang, as the winner of the Saturdays Governorship election.

The result declared by INEC Presiding officer, Musa Yusuf after counting the votes scored by parties that participated in the election, Mutfwang polled 525,299 votes to beat his closest rival, Nentawe Yilwatda of All Progressive Party, APC, who scored 481,370 votes in a keenly contested election, while the Labour Party, LP, Patrick Dakum also scored 60,310. However, out of 17 local government areas in Plateau state, the PDP won 10 local government areas, while APC won in 7 local government areas.
