The Umunneochi Chapter of PDP Coalition has alleged that the member representing Isikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha was behind attack on its Chieftain and former member of Abia State House of Assembly, Prince Paul Ikedi Ezekwesiri.
In a statement released online, “the PDP pro group therefore is alerting security Agencies, Nigerians, the International Community to what it described as coordinated attacks on members and chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Umunneochi Local Government Area.”
“The group however, described the unfortunate incident as “a well-coordinated armed attack to intimate members of the PDP in Umunneochi especially Chief Chris Igwe, Barr. Okey Igwe, Prince Paul Ikedi Ezekwesiri, Eze Chikamnayo among others opposing Nkeiruka Onyejeocha’s 5th term bid.”
Odoemelam Samuel, the Umunneochi Local Government Area Coordinator of the group said in a statement
that the good people of Umunneochi are not deterred by the antics of Onyejeocha to intimate and harass them into supporting her reelection in 2023.
Recall that the immediate-past member representing Umunneochi state constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Ikedi Ezekwesiri, was earlier this month shot by unidentified gunmen.
The incident occured when the former lawmaker was returning from Enugu.
He said his 11-year old son was with him in his Prado jeep when they ran into the hoodlums who suddenly emerged from the bush and opened fire on them.
Although he escaped by the whisker, his left hand was shattered by bullets of the hoodlums.
Our correspondent could not reach Reps Onyejeocha to react to the allegation as her phone number was not reachable.
