Wastefulness and extravagant lifestyle is something that is most common and pertinent with Nigerian politicians.
Instead of using the money for the betterment of the citizens they represent, Nigerian politicians would rather ludicrously waste the public funds in buying expensive cars, private jets, bags, shoes, jewellery, and of course, buying expensive and gigantic houses.
Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to CAMP NEYA, the humongous country home of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu. The country home that is literally a camp-size is named after Orji Uzor Kalu’s daughter, NEYA and is located in his village Igbere in Abia state.
Camp Neya was commissioned in 1999 by the then Military Administrator of Abia State, Colonel Anthony Obi. Coincidentally, the camp was commissioned on the eve of the inauguration of Orji Uzor Kalu as the Governor of Abia state on 28th of May, 1999.
Considering the date of commissioning such humongous elaborate country home “camp NEYA” someone may ostensibly nurse the opinion that Orji Uzor Kalu acquired the property without involving the public money, but who would like to sink his hard-earned money into such privately owned property that only serves as a place of living for one family.
The home comprises of:
400 rooms, 36, jumbo-sized sitting rooms, 187 bedrooms, 76 bathrooms, 102 toilets, 22 kitchens. It has stadium-style recreational facilities which include relaxation centres, golf course, a football pitch, Olympic sized swimming pool, indoor swimming pool, lawn tennis court, sports centre, bush bar, children recreation.
The home also boasts of 12 presidential lodges, 36 governors’ lodges for all the states in Nigeria, a 500 capacity conference hall, a church and a mosque.
That’s not all as the home also boasts of a clinic, police post, military detachment, gardens, ICT centre, a filling station and several ATM galleries.

This is like building a city just for one man and his family.
I rest my case.
