Al-Makura enjoin Nigerians to give Tinubu more time, caution against planned nationwide protest.

Former Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Umar Tanko Al-Makura has appealed to Nigeria to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu more time in order to address the challenges bedeviling the Country.

Al-Makura made this appeal at his residence on Monday while addressing individuals and groups and caution them against participating in the planned 10-day nation wide protest against bad governance starting from August 01 -10.

The former Governor, who acknowledged protest as a constitutional right of citizens expressed concern that the planned hunger protest will plunge the nation into the state of anarchy.

Al-Makura, in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Chief Danjuma Joseph, on Tuesday said; “I want to appeal to youths to please adopt constructive engagement with leaders at the national, state, and local government levels. This is important because engaging our elected and appointed representatives is a key to solving the nation’s problems.

“The President has just clocked only one year in office and we are all aware that he inherited battered economy and other numerous challenges, so he need at least two years and more to fix these challenges”.

Al-Makura who represented Nasarawa South District in the 9th Nigerian Senate, therefore admonished citizens to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administratiion to succeed.
