Pokémon Go has been taking the world by Thunderstorm, with mobile gamers across the globe jumping at the chance to catch the second wave of Poke-mania (and that damn Gyarados)!
Even though the popular mobile game is causing accidents, injuries, and the discovery of dead bodies, more franchises will inevitably get augmented reality smartphone games of their own.
Game Of Thrones fans will be happy to know the developers of Pokémon Go are eying Westeros as the next potential world to get the “Go” treatment!
Archit Bhargava, who is the marketing lead for game developer Niantic, revealed it was his “personal fantasy” to see “Westeros mapped out on Earth.”
Speaking to Gamestop, he said the company is “really trying to create the genre of real-world gaming,” explaining:
“No one’s really done this in a way that we were all excited about. It’s all about getting people moving, getting them exploring the world around them. There could be a board game you could make in the real world where people are capturing locations like Risk or something. My personal fantasy is a Game of Thrones game where Westeros is mapped out on Earth and you join House Stark or whatever.”
Um, the ability to battle white walkers, raise dragons, and drink wine with Tyrion all in the palm of our hands? Sign us the eff up!
Though there’s no official confirmation from Niantic to make the fantasy hit into their next hit game, we don’t think the idea is too… Farfetch’d!
