
The Federal Government has declared Thursday May 1, 2025 as Public Holiday to commemorate this year’s Worker’s Day celebration.
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, reiterated the need for excellence, efficiency and equity in all spheres of labour, affirming the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s commitment in fostering a culture of innovation, productivity, and inclusivity in workplace.
A statement signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, conveyed the Minister’s warm wishes and urged Nigerians to remain committed to the present administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda as he wishes workers a happy celebration.
Tunji-Ojo commended Nigerian workers for their diligence and sacrifice, noting that workers’ efforts are largely responsible for the greatness of the country and the respect Nigeria commands in the comity of nation’s.
According to the Minister, “There is dignity in labour, the dedication and commitment to the work we do is vital to nation’s building”.
The Minister urged workers to imbibe the culture of innovation and productivity and assured Nigerians that “this administration is fully committed to the security of life and property of every citizen and foreigners in the country”.
