Police IG Adamu pays urgent visit to Katsina in response to Buhari’s order on ‘Banditry’ control in the state

The Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Adamu has arrived in Katsina Wednesday morning at about 9:45am with the mission of coordinating security activities and apparatus capable of putting banditry and other nefarious crimes under control in the state.

IG Adamu’s sudden visit to Katsina, 9News Nigeria learnt, was an immediate follow up to President Buhari’s order that crimes and banditry should be checked and put under control immediately.

There have been an alarming surge in banditry and other nefarious activities in Katsina state which led to the Presidency’s intervention to check the activities of bandits in the state.

Just two days ago, Katsina Police had declared a notorious bandits’ leader, Yankuzo wanted for several criminal activities including kidnapping and terrorism in the state and beyond.

According to the Police spokesman, SP Gambo Isa, the Police Inspector General has few other activities in Katsina which including paying a courtesy visit to the state’s governor, HE Aminu Masari, a royal visit to the palace of Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, and also a crucial visit to the state Police headquarters.
