The Nigerian Police Force has paraded twelve suspects linked to the armed robbery incident that claimed the lives of Arise Television News Anchor Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu and a security guard, Barnabas Danlami, at Unique apartments, Katampe Extension, Abuja on September 29,’2025.
During the parade on Saturday October 11, Force Public Relation Officer CSP Benjamin Hundeyin said the arrests followed a “coordinated, intelligence -driven investigation launched immediately after the crime.

The suspects were identified as Shamsudeen Hassan, Hassan Isah, 22, Abubakar Alkamu, ’27, Sani Sirajo 20, Maskur Jamilu 28, Suleman Badamasi, 21, Abdulsalam Suleh, 23, Musa Adamu, 30, Sumayya Mohammed, 27, Isah Abulrahman, (25) and Musa Umar (31)
Item recovered from the suspects include: One fabricated AK-47 rifle.
Items recovered from the suspects include: One locally fabricated AK-47 rifle. One locally made pistol. One pump-action gun. 36 live rounds of ammunition. Two live cartridge. Four mobile phones, Two sharp knives. One cutlass. Two flashlights.
According to police investigations, Shamsudeen Hassan fired the fatal shot that killed the security guard after he attempted to prevent the gang from entering the building.
Hundeyin added that the gang allegedly sourced their weapons from a supplier in Niger Republic and had been involved in several armed robbery operation across Katampe 1, Apo, Zuba, and other parts of Abuja.
The suspects are expected to be charged to court upon n completion of investigations.
