Earlier today’s evening the president of the federal republic of Nigeria, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has launched out with the newly purchased Nigeria Airbus to France.

This particular movement of the president has caused a lot of mixed feelings by Nigerians who are still being challenged by the economic meltdown till the time of filling this report.

The citizens however wondered why the president will be traveling alongside the huge investment on the purchase of New Airbus at the time when Nigerians are seemingly facing high economic crunch.

Our correspondent this evening report that President Tinubu departed Abuja monday for Paris, France using the new Airbus A330 as confirmed.

Meanwhile the new Airbus is said to have replaced the 19-year-old Boeing B737-700(BBJ) bought under the Presidency of President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The recommendation to replace the B737-700(BBJ) followed an investigative hearing by Nigeria’s parliament that questioned the plane’s safety record and cost efficiency, especially after it malfunctioned during a trip to Saudi Arabia.

The Nigerian Senate’s security and intelligence committee recommended replacing the ageing aircraft in the presidential fleet to reduce downtime and operational expenses.

However, our correspondent reports that the new plane is spacious and is furnished with the state-of-the-art avionics, customized interior and communications system. The president will be enjoying the Airbus in his scheduled travels.

The new plane, was estimated at certain market price that will save some expanses for the country which was suggested by aviation experts.

We learnt the Airbus was bought far below the market price to save Nigeria huge maintenance and fuel costs, running into millions of dollars yearly.
