There is currently tension at the entrance and exit gates of the Ministry of Housing and Works with the workers holding protest.
The Ministry’s headquarters is located around Mabushi area of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
According to report, the protesting workers in their numbers have now locked the Works Minister, David Umahi, inside his office.
The workers who were seen protesting alleged that consultants are now deployed to do work ordinarily meant for the staff of the Ministry.
Some of those who joined the protest were said to be those who were prevented from gaining entrance due to lateness to work.
Officials of the Ministry were yet to speak on the development as at time of filling this report.
