Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday condemned what he described as “groundless” aggression against his ally, Iran following the U.S and Israel’s recent strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities over the weekend.
“This is an absolutely unprovoked aggression against Iran”, Putin stated during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who travelled to Moscow seeking support for mediation effort.
Putin criticized the recent strikes as “unjustified” and reiterated that Russia is “making efforts to provide assistance to the Iranian people”.
