Amid conversation surrounding Regina Daniels’ marriage to Nigerian politician and billionaire business mogul Ned Nwoko, the actress has refuted claims that she married him for financial gains.
Regina clarified that her marriage was built in genuine love and affection, not wealth.
In a video shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday November 5, 2025, the actress talked about the circumstances that led to her marriage, insisting that her decision was driven by love and not by marital motive.
She disclosed that even her mother, veteran actress Rita Daniels, opposed her plan to marry the politician at the time.

“You guys should stop saying I got married to Ned Nwoko because of his money, I fell in love with him.
“I’m so ashamed to say I fell in love, but I actually did. And It’s crazy, but I did. Everyone said no, my mom…come on now… you all (should) stop saying I got married out of greed Excuse me, no, we were not broke. Does that make sense?”, Regina said.
The actress went on to say that her decision to go ahead with the marriage caused tension within the family.
She said her mother and siblings warned her against it, but she was determined to follow her heart, recalling leaving her home at night with the intension of taking her life If she was not allowed to marry Ned Nwoko.
Regina also recalled that the situation escalated to the point where she went to the police station, asking officers to arrest her because her family refused to support her relationship.
The actress and mother of two has repeatedly defended her marriage, insisting that love and mutual respect remain the foundation of her marriage.
