Few hours ago another truck carrying premium spirit, PMS fell along Naze/Nekede/Ihiagwa road precisely within police post area of Nekede making it twice incidents within a week.
The fuel tanker was conveying fuel to a Mega filling station located in Ihiagwa owerri west Imo state where its tires skidded the slope on the rough road and fell uncontrollably and splashed its fuel content am over the place.
The men of the fire service were alerted to come and cordon off the area in case of possible inferno while the police patrol van was sighted packed close to the scene of incident to avert possible theft.
Recall that it was on this same road that a truck carrying cartons of beer fell last Monday causing traffic congestion along the road.
Meanwhile, residents were sighted carrying buckets to fetch fuel from the fallen tanker adding more risk to the area.
9News Nigeria gathered that it was the bad condition of this road that caused the fall and possibly a lot more will fall and pose serious danger to the residents and users of this road if Imo state government remains adamant to do this road.
Few months ago it was this same road that the government planned to flag off its construction but latter retracted their plan to the detriment of the people living in this area.
Also, the house member representing owerri west had sometime promised the kickoff of the road but nothing has happened till date. This is the anger of the people against this government. The people has continued to talk down on this government by the slow speed of work going on all over the road.
At least the road need to be leveled to make it motorable than the way it is presently causing serious danger to both its users and residents.
