The Independent National Electoral Commission has explained why it declared the Saturday’s governorship election in Benue State inconclusive.
Announcing the decision on Monday, the Returning Officer, Prof Sebastian Maimako, announced that the number of canceled votes outweighed the number of victory margin.
WWW.IDOMAVOICE.COM reports that, 790,102 votes were valid, 14,560 votes were rejected while 121,019 votes were cancelled.
Samuel Ortom of the Peoples Democratic Party scored 410,576 votes while Emmanuel Jime of the All Progressives Congress scored 329,022 votes.
He said a new date would be announced for a rerun within 21 days.
