Rivers Defected Lawmakers Warns Residents Not To Deal with Gov Fubara’s CTC Chairmen

The 27th Lawmakers Who Defected has its 7th Legislative Sitting today Monday, the 22nd, July 2024.

The Pro-wike lawmakers deliberated on a motion raised by the House Majority Leader, Hon Major Jack, he drew the attention of the House to the illegal activities of some persons in the state as perambulating themselves as chairman and members of the Caretaker Committee.

Hon Jack said they go about imposing and collecting fees, taxes, and levies for innocent citizens.

The Supreme Court judgment has been breached, and Rivers State Local Government Amendment law, 2023 prohibits the Caretaker Committee in whatever guise or nomenclature.

The Pro-Wike Lawmakers condemned and berated those they described as impostors and have sounded a warning to all banks, transitional rulers, government at all levels, and non-governmental organizations and business owners not to transact any business with the unelected individuals, who are parading themselves as Caretaker Chairmen in the state, they are threats to the fragile peace in the state.

Speaking further, Rt Hon Martins Amaewhule urges the Nigeria Police and other Security Operatives to swing into action and arrest the impostors to prevent breaking down of the law and others in the state.

Reiterating the position of the House of Assembly, Rt Hon Awaewhule stated that the House would not keep folding its arms and condone the crass disregard for the law of the state and the judgment of the Supreme Court of the land by some individuals who named themselves as Caretaker Committee Chairmen.
