Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, has praised goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa, following his fine display in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) quarter-final win over Angola on Sunday.
Rohr, however, refused to confirm if he will be first-choice stopper at the World Cup later this year.
Ezenwa was named CAF’s Man of the Match, as the Eagles rallied from behind to win 2-1 in extra time.
“It’s too early to say. We can’t choose our goalkeeper for June in the month of January.
“[However], he proved today – and already did in the first three matches – that he’s in form and he can claim to be one of the three goalkeepers for the World Cup.
“First choice? That’s for me to decide later.
“I was very happy for the form of [Ezenwa], who did very well. It’s good to know for our World Cup that he’s in form,” Rohr told KweséESPN.
