Manchester United has paid Ruben Amorim a reported £10 million severance package after sacking him as head coach.
The total cost of hiring and firing now reached around £27 million, according to reports.
Amorim, 40, who joined United from Sporting Lisbon in November 2024, had 18 months left on his contract, meaning the Red Devils were liable for the remaining wages alongside the pay-off.
The payout adds to the debate over United’s managerial decisions following the mixed results under Amorim.
Ruben Amorim earned approximately £7.8 million in wages during his tenure as Manchester United manager and will receive an estimated £10 million in compensation from the club.
