A Nigerian woman and 3 others have been executed in Saudi Araba for drug trafficking, bringing the number of people put to death in the Middle-East country this year to 53.

Confirming that a Nigerian woman was executed in Saudi Arabia, the country’s Interior Ministry disclosed that she put to death along with two Pakistani men and a Yemeni man in Islam’s holiest city, Mecca, on Monday.

While the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has refused to yield to the demand of abolishing the death penalty which it argued serves as a deterrent against crime, human right experts across the world on the h repeatedly raised concerns about the fairness of trials in the kingdom which is governed under strict Islamic law.
