The remains of the five pospective Corps members from Akwa Ibom State who died in a ghastly motor accident on their way to Katsina for NYSC were brought back to Uyo via Nigerian Airforce aircraft.
They were led to rest on Wednesday 4th August, 2021.
This scheme (NYSC) is more hazardous than being beneficiary to young Nigerians
Every year, not less than ten of such cases happen to prospective or outgoing Corps members.
To mitigate the loss of lives of these young Nigerians whose future is always aborted by road accidents in the Nigeria bad roads, communal clashes, election violence, insurgencies, weather allergy to some Nigerians, rapes of female Corps members etc, the National Assembly should look for an alternative profitable scheme to substitute the present National Youth Service Corps.
As a media house which is in touch and listen to Nigerians complaints in all geopolitical zones of which none is spared by the NYSC regular loss of lives, many have joined us to call for the #SCRAP of NYSC.
