The Director General, Media, All Progressives Congress, Imo State Chapter, Cajethan Duke has called on the Security agencies and appropriate authorities to launch an inquest on the possible roles played by the opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the current security situation confronting Imo State.
Cajethan Duke made the call when he appeared as a guest on Galaxy TV 9:00pm News Track program.
The program which had the Director General connecting via zoom from Owerri, raised various issues bordering on the recent call by the opposition party, the PDP Imo State Chapter, for the resignation of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma as the Executive Governor of Imo State.
In response, Mr Duke expressed concern on how the opposition party is embarrassing democracy in Africa by such nonsensical call.
The DG pointed the nonchalant attitude of the PDP towards playing the role of opposition in a democratic institution. An opposition that keeps quiet when criminal elements are attacking democratic institutions, only to speak and seek for resignation.
As against the position of the PDP, Mr Duke expressed the commitment of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma in resolving the security issues in the state. This he said, is evident in the various stakeholders forum he has been engaged in lately towards energizing a collective approach in the fight against the menace, stressing that security remains everyone’s business.
On that note, the Director General of Media, Imo APC calls on all relevant authorities and security agencies for an inquest on possible roles played by the opposition party PDP in the security situation in Imo State.
