Super Eagles attacker, Ahmed Musa was mobbed by excited fans as she paid a visit to the National Mosque in Abuja to observe the Juma’ah Prayers. He was surrounded by fans who showed their appreciation for his efforts and that of his team members in Nigeria’s FIFA World Cup matches.
Meanwhile, it has been gathered that Super Eagles players have been leaving their Essentuki Camp Base in Russia in trickles following Tuesday’s exit of Nigeria from the 2018 FIFA World Cup after 1-2 loss to Argentina.
Ademola Olajire, the Director of Communications of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF),said that most of the players have left Russia for their respective bases.
“Instead of returning to Nigeria, the Super Eagles players have been returning to their respective bases one after the other, where they have since reunited with their families,’’ he said.
Players who have had their early exit from the camp include team captain Mike Obi, Odion Ighalo, Victor Moses, Kelechi Iheanacho, Leon Balogun, Alex Iwobi, Kenneth Omeruo and Tyronne Ebuehi.
Olajire, however, said those remaining in the team’s camp include Daniel Akpeyi, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Francis Uzoho, John Ogu, Chidozie Awaziem, Oghenekaro Etebo and Simeon Nwankwo.
Ahmed Musa, joined the elite class of players, winning the Budweiser Man of the Match, at the FIFA World Cup in Russia after his brace against Iceland. The Nigerian No7 became the second African player to score two World Cup braces, after Roger Milla in 1990.
