In furtherance and consolidation of my resolve to totally douse the #EndSars tension in my Senatorial District, I have spent the past days liaising/consulting stakeholders, local Vigilante, youths and community leaders across Nnewi, Amichi, Ukpor, Osumumenyi, Ezinifite and other communities to consolidate security, peace and order in Anambra South.
During the tour, we visited some of the burnt police stations, Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) and Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) offices within my Senatorial District to inspect the degree of damages recorded there. We also paid a visit to various Traditional Rulers, community stakeholders and leaders within my Senatorial District.
In view of the security challenges occassioned by the nationwide unrest, I believe that there is an urgent need for our Local Vigilante security operatives to synergize with stakeholders, community leaders and youths to rise to the occasion of protecting lives and properties being threatened by external and unidentified elements who have taken advantage of the #EndSars protest to wreak havoc and mayhem in our localities.
Furthermore, I understand the grouse of some political divides who are hiding under the pretext of the unfortunate incident to push twisted and misleading narratives in a bid to score cheap political points. The most important factor is that our collective intervention has yielded tremendous results as no further attacks have been launched on any public or private institution in my Senatorial District.
At this juncture, I want to thank various community stakeholders, youth leaders and vigilante groups in my constituency for their support and efforts so far as I wish to commiserate with them over lost lives and reassure them that these unfortunate destructions will be tabled before the appropriate authorities and community stakeholders with a view to providing long lasting solutions that will bring about total peace and order.
Conclusively, I will be making a live broadcast on Authority 91.9FM by 8:00pm tonight to brief my constituents and provide detailed insights on practicable measures we have taken to restore total normalcy to my Senatorial District and Anambra at large.
