…Supports renovation of police station at Abeda
Further to his commitment, Benue North East Senator, Barr. Emmanuel Memga Udende has continued to advocate for unity of purpose in Tiv Nation.
The Senate Committee Chairman on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes strengthened his call for unity earlier today during the burial of the District Head of Mbavuur, Late Chief Geoffrey Andoaver Gbajur at Abeda, Gambe-Tiev in Logo Local Government Area.
According to Senator Udende, the Tiv people need to embrace each other as one people in order to tackle the lingering insecurity affecting farmers in MINDA, Kwande and Sankera in general.
To improve security in the area, Senator Udende donated money for renovation of the police station at Abeda to provide security for the people.
“It’s high time the people accept the fact that we are going backwards because of lack of unity, be it in politics, traditional institution, the church, community and so on.
“Let me use this opportunity to implore the repented bandits in Sankera, not to go back to their old ways,” Sen Udende said, nothing that peace is the way to go.
Sen Udende explained that he will continue to support any programme that will enhance peace and development in Benue North East even as he will continue to speak for his people.
He further called on Mbavuur sons and daughters home and in diaspora to come together and show love as brothers and resolve all differences whenever they arise.
Other speakers including former Governors of Benue State Sen Gabriel Suswam and Samuel Ortom, represented by Terhemen Ndiisar and James Anbua who condoled the bereaved family prayed God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
