Muttaqha Rabe Darma has been confirmed as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, after a screening exercise by the Senate.
Darma, was appointed this week to replace Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, the immediate past Minister of Housing and Urban Development.
While responding to questions from lawmakers on housing deficit and Urban renewal, the Minister says he intends to work with other stakeholders to achieve set targets.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had on Wednesday written to the Senate, seeking the screening and subsequent confirmation of Muttaqha Rabe Darma as as Minister.
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, who read the communication from President Tinubu, thereafter referred it to the Committee of the Whole for further legislative action, with a directive to report back as soon as practicable.
The appointee who holds two PhDs was a Secretary and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF).
