The Chairman Senate Committee on Privatisation, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has condemned in strong terms, the inhumane treatment meted out on Mr. Debola Daniel, who is physically challenged.
Mr. Daniel was stopped from using the KFC fast-food joint at the Lagos Airport, because of his disability, which is not his fault.
The ranking lawmaker, representing Abia North Senatorial District, who in his style of standing for what is right from time immemorial, showed his displeasure via his official Facebook page.
He said;
“I strongly condemn the discriminatory incident against Mr. Debola Daniel, a passenger with reduced mobility at the KFC outlet located at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Tuesday.
Discriminatory practices, such as the one experienced by Mr. Daniel,
where he and his family members were prevented from accessing the KFC fast-food joint at the Lagos Airport because of his disability are entirely unacceptable.
It is not only unlawful but also inhumane and contrary to societal values.”
You will recall, Kalu while his was governor of Abia State, spoke against some anomalies which didn’t sit well with the people. He is the friend of the masses who is always speaking for people who can’t defend themselves. Sen. Kalu has been the mouthpiece of the voiceless.
