Just two days before the Olympic Games are set to begin in Rio, two of its biggest stars have descended upon the city: Serenaand Venus Williams.
The sisters and doubles partners touched down in the city on Wednesday. Earlier, Venus took to Instagram to let her nearly four million followers know she was on her way.
According to the Associated Press, she also brought along aHarry Potter book for the long flight.
The sisters, who have a combined eight golds between them, four apiece, reportedly grabbed their luggage after they landed and then got their accreditations processed.
At the Summer Olympics, Serena will attempt to win a record-breaking 23 Grand Slam titles. Last month, she earned secured her 22nd Grand Slam at Wimbledon. Meanwhile, Venus will be the first tennis player to compete in five Olympic Games. The duo are also looking to defend their doubles gold in Rio.
“The reason I played the Olympics was my dad,” Venus told Tennis magazine in August. “He always wanted us to play. He always thought it was special.”
