Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has warned social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), over what he described as persistent disrespect toward his father and the presidency.

Speaking during a gathering with supporters, Seyi Tinubu expressed confidence in the administration of President Tinubu, insisting that Nigerians would soon see the benefits of the current government’s policies and leadership.

He praised supporters who continue to believe in the administration despite growing criticism over the country’s economic and security challenges, describing President Tinubu as “the hope” Nigerians had long awaited.

Seyi stated that recent attacks and comments directed at the President had gone beyond political criticism and had become personal insults that should no longer be tolerated.

According to him, “The disrespect you accord my dad, the President, is enough, and I won’t take it any longer. You’ll soon be sued.”

Although he did not directly mention any particular incident, many Nigerians linked his remarks to recent videos and online commentaries by VeryDarkMan criticizing the federal government over rising insecurity, hardship, kidnappings and worsening living conditions.

VDM has emerged as one of the most vocal online critics of the Tinubu administration, with his social media videos attracting millions of views, especially among young Nigerians frustrated by the economic situation in the country.

The comments by Seyi Tinubu have since triggered widespread reactions online, with supporters of both camps engaging in heated debates across social media platforms.

While some Nigerians defended Seyi Tinubu’s position and argued that the office of the President deserves respect, others maintained that criticism of elected leaders remains a fundamental part of democracy and should not attract threats of legal action.

The controversy has continued to generate public attention, as many Nigerians await to see whether any formal lawsuit will be filed against VeryDarkMan or if the dispute will remain another high-profile social media confrontation.
