Mariam Nabatanzi from Uganda gave birth to multiple set of twins, triplets and quadruplets eventually having 44 babies in total.
Only her youngest son was born alone.
Mariam was married off at the tender age of 12 and started delivering babies the following year.
When she asked doctors for family planning options after having 18 babies, they told her she had ‘unusually largely ovaries, Birth control pills made her sick, so the children kept coming.
Only after her husband left, did she stop having children.
Being single mother, Mariam seizes every opportunity to make ends meet and paying her children’s school fees.
