At the Flag-Off event of All Progressives Congress APC gubernatorial campaign in Owerri Imo state Nigeria Wednesday 11-10-2023, the state APC party Chairman, Hon Sir Macdonald Kelechi Ebere PhD stated the obvious to gather more souls for the 3R government ably led by His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma.

The original copy of the address was signed by Macdonald Ebere and made available to 9News Nigeria News desk.

It reads thus:

AN ADDRESS PRESENTED BY THE STATE CHAIRMAN, AT THE OFFICIAL FLAG OFF OF THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS, APC, GUBERNATORIAL CAMPAIGN, WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 11, 2023.

PROTOCOL:

It is with immense pleasure and profound sense of responsibility that I stand on behalf of the State Working Committee of our great party, APC, to welcome you all to the official flag-off campaign of our amiable and performing governor, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, a visionary and pragmatic leader whose dedication to progress has brought about significant transformation in our great state.

Senator Hope Uzodimma has tirelessly dedicated himself to the betterment of our state, and his accomplishments in various areas are a testament to his unwavering commitment to the people.

Today, we gather not only to celebrate these remarkable achievements in all critical sectors of our state, particularly in the area of infrastructural development, health care delivery, Digital Economy, sustainable development, urban renewal initiatives, civil service reforms, rural development and youth development, but to unveil the roadmap for the consolidation of the gains of the shared prosperity administration built on the 3R Agenda as encapsulated under the IMO RENEWED HOPE PROJECT.

While it is indeed a difficult task to articulate in one-fold, it is easy to say the achievements of the governor have not only surpassed the expectation of the people and earned him respect and admiration across board. Within the period under review, our party has indeed justified the mandate of the good people of Imo State.

Please permit me to cite some examples of the laudable achievements of this highly performing governor of Imo State – Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON.

  1. Infrastructural Development: Under Senator Uzodimma’s leadership, our state has witnessed a remarkable transformation in the realm of critical infrastructure. Roads and public facilities have been revitalized, connecting our communities, facilitating commerce, and enhancing the overall quality of life for our citizens. The most audacious amongst them, in my opinion, is the current unforeseen effort to dredge Uguta Lake and Orashi River, which will link the state to the Atlantic Ocean and open the state to the immense benefits of the global blue economy. These improvements are not mere promises but tangible evidence of his commitment to ensuring a bright future for all.
  2. Health Care Delivery: The Senator’s dedication to healthcare cannot be understated. He has invested heavily in the healthcare system, ensuring that our citizens have access to quality medical care. New hospitals, clinics, and well-equipped health centers have been established, providing vital medical services and saving lives.
  3. Urban and Rural Renewal Initiatives: Our cities have undergone a remarkable transformation under Senator Uzodimma’s leadership. Dilapidated urban areas have been revitalized, making our state more attractive, functional, and conducive for residents and businesses. These urban renewal initiatives reflect his dedication to creating an environment where our citizens can thrive. The rural economy is alive again with the One Kindred One Business Initiative (OKOBI) – a brilliant brainchild of His Excellency, which demonstrates his rootedness in Imo State.
  4. Civil Service Reforms: Senator Uzodimma recognizes the importance of a competent and efficient civil service. Through comprehensive reforms, he has streamlined the civil service, ensuring that it serves the people effectively and is free from unnecessary bureaucracy.
  5. Youth Development through Digital Skill-up Programs: The digital age has arrived, and Senator Uzodimma understands the importance of preparing our youth for the future. His digital skill-up program equips our young citizens with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in a rapidly changing world, fostering innovation and job opportunities. At the last count, over 20,000 Imo youths have been trained and equipped to compete favourably in the ever-growing technological world. Another 40000 are expected to commence training any time soon. This is not a mean feat.
  6. Prompt payment of salaries and pensions nay effort to pay gratuities.

In conclusion, Senator Hope Uzodimma’s track record of achievement in infrastructural development, health delivery, asset recovery, urban/rural renewal, civil service reforms, and youth development through the digital skill-up program speaks volumes. His dedication to our state and its people is unwavering, and his vision for a brighter future is one we can all rally behind.

As we gather today to commence this campaign, let us remember the progress we have witnessed under his leadership and look forward to even greater achievements in the years to come. Together, we can build a prosperous and inclusive future for our beloved state.

I will end my speech with this biblical version: ” THE RACE IS NOT TO THE SWIFT NOR THE BATTLE TO THE STRONG NEITHER TO THE WISE, NOT HE THAT WILLETH AND NOT HE THAT RUNNETH BUT ONLY GOD THAT SHOWETH MERCY” And i know that it is already written that God has destined the second term of SEN HOPE UZODIMMA And Victory is Assured

Thank you all, and i welcome all of you to this occasion in the name of God the father God the Son And God the holy Spirt. Let the flag-off campaign of Senator Hope Uzodimma begin! Let us move forward with HOPE, determination, and unity, for the best is yet to come.

Hon. McDonald Kelechi Ebere, PhD
Apc State Chairman Imo State.
