A student voluntary body under the name Ifeanyi Uba’s Students support group (IUSSG) on Thursday paid the school fee of one of her indigent member.
This group through her charity network raised over Fifty-four thousand five hundred naira (0ver #54,500.00) to Miss Uma Chinecherem who is an ND2 student of Akunu-Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Unwana,Ebonyi State.
The group members opened Channel for fund raising after the IUSSG Coordinator for Akanu-Ibiam Poly brought the case to the national body.
Handing over the funds to the beneficiary at Nnewi on Thursday the 12th day of November 2020,the national coordinator of the group Comr. Amobi Okonkwo described the gesture as an act inline with the principles of her Life patron Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah who is known for genuine philanthropism. He said the kind gesture was not politically motivated as the beneficiary is an indigene of Abia state who studies in Ebonyi and is not connected to the political ambitions of Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah.
Comr. Amobi said the group leadership was moved by compassion after it was discovered Miss Chinecherem was about to dropout in her final year due to family issues, members started making free will donations till the required amount was raised for the young promising lady.
Miss Chinecherem who was deeply amazed by the support bursted into cry after the envelope of all her fees was handed to her. She narrated how she was about giving up in her academic pursuit due to her family’s financial predicament.
She said is touched by this singular act by her fellow students. She prayed God to repay all the members that supported her.
Ifeanyi Ubah’s Students Support Group is body of Nigerian students that support the leadership ideologies of Sen. Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah who currently represent the good people of Anambra south in the National Assembly. They work together to support Sen Ubah’s political ambitions. They have members cut across several higher institutions in Nigeria.
