The Commandant of the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM), Major General Adewale Collins Adetoba, has emphasized that the success of Peace Support Operations (PSO) in the West African region largely depends on effective logistics planning and deployment.
He made this known during a week-long Operational Level Training in Logistics for ECOWAS PSO, jointly organized by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and NACOLM at the Ogomudia Auditorium, Moloney Campus, Lagos, from November 3–7, 2025.
The training, which drew participants from the Armed Forces, Police and civilian sectors across ECOWAS member states, aimed to strengthen the capacity of logistics officers in planning and managing operations.
Major General Adetoba also announced the introduction of new leadership courses at NACOLM and commended the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, for supporting the college’s collaboration with ECOWAS.
He further appreciated the ECOWAS Peacekeeping and Regional Security Directorate for their partnership.
Acting Head of Peacekeeping Operations, Dr. Sani Adamu, and ECOWAS Civilian Component Head, Mr. Bekaye Coulibaly, both lauded the initiative, stressing that improved logistics capacity remains vital to sustaining peace and security efforts across West Africa.
