Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza of the Kebbi State High Court has been abducted by suspected bandits from his residence in Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Reports indicate that the gunmen stormed the judge’s home along Zogirma Road at about 12:00 a.m around, shortly after he returned from a trip to Sokoto State, and took him to unknown location.

The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the abduction.
Police spokesperson SP Bashir Usman said the Commissioner of Police has deployed tactical and intelligence teams to comb forests and other suspected hideouts in an effort to rescue the judge safety.
“As we speak, our personnel are combing identified locations, including forest areas, to ensure that the judge is rescued alive and unharmed,”, the PPRO said.
A senior officer of the Kebbi State High Court, who pleaded for anonymity, confirmed the incident to journalists, describing the incident as a sad development for the judiciary.
