According to eyewitnesses, the suspect, who was smartly dressed, allegedly attempted to gain access to a vehicle parked within the market using what witnesses described as multiple master keys.
His alleged plan was reportedly foiled when a vigilant passerby noticed his suspicious actions and immediately raised an alarm, attracting traders and other members of the public to the scene.

The incident caused heavy commotion around the market as traders, motorists and shoppers gathered to witness the arrest, temporarily disrupting business activities.
Several traders who spoke with 9News Nigeria expressed concern over what they described as a recent increase in attempted vehicle thefts around the Relief Market axis.
According to some of them, this is the second reported incident involving an alleged car theft attempt in the area within a relatively short period, prompting traders and market leaders to strengthen local vigilance and surveillance measures.
They explained that informal community security arrangements have been put in place to identify suspicious movements and quickly alert security agencies whenever criminal activity is suspected.
Residents and motorists were also advised to remain vigilant, avoid leaving vehicles unattended for long periods, ensure their cars are properly secured, and promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the police and other relevant security agencies.
