Tetlow Road Faces Demolition As State Government Through OCDA Demolishes Ongoing Illega Shops At Old Stadium Owerri

Information made available to 9News Nigeria has it that Imo State Government through Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA) carried out the demolition of an ongoing one unit of fifteen illegal shops being constructed inside old Stadium that also houses Township Primary School along Tetlow road Owerri in the State Capital.

Supervising the demolition exercise on Friday 3-06-2022, the Special Adviser and General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA) Engr. Francis Chukwu explained that Government took the drastic action as a result of the fact that the ongoing building was an illegal structure that was not approved by the Government through the Agency.

He further stated that the demolished structure was against the Masterplan of the State Capital hence the demolition became imperative in order to ensure the continued enforcement of the Masterplan.

The OCDA General Manager maintained that Governor Uzodimma’s Shared Prosperity Government remains absolutely uncompromising in its determination to put things in the proper places for the setting of long lasting standards.
