The rivalry that exists between English clubs in London has become a tradition. Every year, when these clubs lock horns together on the football field, the thrills and excitement that follow leaves nothing to the imagination.
As the 2017/2018 English Premier League season enters its second week, the timing for a Super Sunday couldn’t be more perfect. Today, two England football giants; Chelsea FC and Tottenham Hotspurs FC will do battle against each other at the magnificent Wembley stadium in London. Who will take the day?
Tottenham Hotspurs have only won one game in nine competitive matches at the Wembley stadium in 9 years, with three defeats coming at the hands of Chelsea. The Mauricio Pochettino’s side have obviously not been lucky in their new Wembley home ground and the Blues might be ready to increase that awful record.
However, Chelsea has started the season in a poor form after losing their first game at home to Burnley last weekend. The Blues also have more problems to deal with as two of their influential players, Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas were both sent off in the game, leaving Coach Antonio Conte with some difficulty in selection. Can Tottenham take advantage of Chelsea’s early misfortune in today’s showdown?
The stakes are indeed high. The battle field is ready. The fans are anxious to wet their appetite. Who will become victorious in today’s London battle?
