At Obiofia Nnewichi, Nnewi north LGA yesterday 22nd of October 2020 amidst EndSARS agitators in Nnewi. The people’s democratic party (PDP) buries its local government late chairman in grandstyle.
Late Chief Joseph Oko Echendu died On sit as the Chairman of the People’s democratic party (PDP) Nnewi north chapter.
Yesterday was a day for party members to pay there last respect and tribute to the best party chairman in the whole of Anambra state.
Many described him as a man of goodwill committed to the progress and development of Nigeria, Anambra and Nnewi north respectively.
In the words of the acting chairman Hon Ernest Ajero during the Condolence visit to the family; he expressed thanks to God almighty for the life of Chief Oko Echendu. He Described him as a man dedicated to the development of PDP as a party and Nigeria at large.
Going further, he described him as a man of peace, progress and unity at all times
He also thanked the leaders of the party and the State chairman of the party and his Entourage, the leaders of the party, who supported the preparation of the burial but could not attend because of the EndSARS protest in Anambra state and Nigeria.
He also thanked all the leaders of the party present, who took the risk of travelling at this time of tensions in the country to join the PDP family Nnewi north in mourning our late leader and wished them save journey back to their destinations.
He concluded by encouraging the family to follow the footsteps of there late father who was Worthy of emulation during his time as the party chairman in Nnewi North and he ended by giving out a cheaque of 1 Million naira to the family of the late chairman unbehalf of the People’s democratic party (PDP).
Also present at the Event was the National Board of Trustee member of PDP Prof ABC Nwosu. In his words he described the death of Late Chief Oko Echendu as his own irreparable loss as obiofia Nnewichi is his maternal home too. Says the late chairman was a good, friendly, peace loving man and hardworking man that the party will surely miss him.

In all, the burial ceremony was a success as the Nnewi north chapter of the PDP provided Eatables and drinkables to the satisfaction of all the party members present during the burial ceremony of the late chairman yesterday.
