After an impressive display by the Super Falcons of Nigeria at the just-concluded Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, losing only to England 4-2 on penalties in the round of 16, the Super Falcons have cemented a 10th-place spot in the FIFA Women’s ranking for the tournament.
Coming top in Africa and ahead of big football giants like Germany, Brazil, Italy, Canada, Portugal, and Argentina, the Nigerian Women stars have proven they can achieve more in the future.
Coached by German tactician Randy Waldrum, the Nigerian team was ranked as the 10th-best team in the tournament after progressing from the group stage without a single loss, shocking one of the host nations 3-2.
Can the Super Eagles emulate this impressive achievement by their female national counterpart and finish high in the next football competition? We hope so, too.
