Super Eagles Interim Coach, Austin Eguaveon has made a bold declaration ahead of Nigeria’s 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Rwanda.

Speaking at a press conference in Kigali on Monday, Eguaveon expressed confidence in his team but revealed an unconventional approach, stating that there was no specific game plan for the match.

“There is no game plan, the plan is the three points”, Eguaveon said.

This statement has sparked discussions among fans and analysts, as the coach chooses to focus on results over tactical details.

The Super Eagles arrived in Kigali on Sunday, prepared to take on Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium.

After a superlative display and a 3-0 win over Benin Republic on Saturday in Uyo, Nigeria will be looking to continue their winning streak in the AFCON qualifiers.

The team’s impressive form has raised expectations for the clash, where the stakes are high for both teams.

The match is scheduled for 2pm Nigeria time on Tuesday September 10, with the Super Eagles aiming to strengthen their position in the group and edge to qualification.

Eguaveon’s confidence in his squad, coupled with the pressure to perform, sets the stage for an exciting encounter in Kigali.
