President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed renowned banker and entrepreneur Fola Adeola as Chairman of the newly constituted Presidential Petroleum Reform and Value Optimisation Taskforce.
Adeola, who co-founded Guaranty Trust Bank and currently serves as founder and chairman of Fate Foundation, will lead the taskforce charged with driving reforms and improving value optimisation across Nigeria’s petroleum sector.
The taskforce is expected to provide strategic guidance on enhancing efficiency, strengthening governance, and maximising value within the country’s oil and gas industry.
According to details of the appointment, the taskforce comprises a mix of experienced professionals drawn from the energy, finance, and corporate sectors.
Members include Ademola Adeyemi-Bero, Osagie Okunbor, Abubakar Suleiman, Adaeze Aguele, Farouk Gumel, Phillipa Osakwe-Okoye, and Seyi Bella.
Also appointed to the taskforce is Mofoluwasho Fadayomi, who will serve as Secretary.
The establishment of the Presidential Petroleum Reform and Value Optimisation Taskforce underscores the administration’s efforts to reposition Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, improve transparency, and ensure that the country derives maximum economic value from its petroleum resources.
