HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE: Honourable member representing Owerri Federal constituency in the Federal House of Assembly, Sir Tochukwu Okere has pushed further the carving out of two new local government areas, namely, Owerri East and Owerri South from the existing Owerri Federal constituency in Imo state Nigeria.
In this week’s plenary, on the floor of the Green Chamber, Hon. Tochukwu Okere (TOSKA), Member, Representing Owerri Federal Constituency recorded another remarkable stride in the service of his people by this well thought out presentation aimed at spreading quality development and bringing expected governance closer to his constituents as 9News Nigeria reports.
Recall that the lawmaker , in less than three years of his tenure, has left no stone unturned, from his primary jurisdiction (sponsoring bills, motions and petitions) to human capital development projects, to infrastructure development, to general welfare of his people as gathered by our news crew.
This does not mean that Sir Okere is facing no challenges or had no set back clog in the wheel of his legislative assignments. No doubt, his constituents are on high expectations pending the time and span of his legislative duties as a lawmaker of the Federal Republic.
This time, one of the most memorable bills in our history is en route: A Bill for the Creation of Additional Two Local Government Areas in Owerri Federal Constituency and his people are thankful to the singular efforts while waiting it’s seedy acceleration, adoption and passage by the Senate.

This Bill is tagged, “A Bill of Development” as captured by 9News Nigeria. At its presentation on the floor of the House of Representatives, Hon. TOSKA emphasized that the purpose of this bill is to draw more resources for developmental purposes to Owerri Federal Constituency.
The passion in which Hon. Okere presented this bill triggered the House to schedule its second reading for next week. This bill is said to be be overdue, and Hon. TOSKA is hinted the possibility in the carving out of Owerri South and Owerri East from Owerri Federal Constituency as one of the largest Federal Constituencies in South East.
The bill is also a worthy off-shoot and warm up to the proposed new states from the South East that is likely coming to Imo state. A welcome development calling for speedy acceleration.
