The Election Tribunal in Bauchi State has on Wednesday, confirmed the victory of Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir in the 2023 elections.
The panel of the tribunal, chaired by Justice P.T Kwahar, made the declaration while dismissing the petition filled by Sadique Abubakar, governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state challenging the election.
The petition by APC and its candidate, was based on numerous claims that the 18 March governorship election in the state were manipulated, among other things.
However, the panel affirmed that there was no strong reason to nullify the election as the election was conducted in compliance with the law.
There is no available information on whether APC will further challenge the matter in the Supreme Court at the time of filling this report.
