Two people have been killed and 19 others injured in a suicide bomb attack in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Our correspondent reports that a male suicide bomber disguised as a lunatic blew himself up at the state secretariat along post office area in Maiduguri at about noon.
He carried out the act at the entrance of the complex where security operatives usually conduct checks.
Only the suicide bomber was killed with a policeman at his duty post.
The area has been cordoned off by security operatives and the Civilian JTF who are combing the area for clues.
Governor Kashim Shettima has visited the scene of the blast and the state hospital where the victims are being treated.
This incident is coming 24 hours after an attack was foiled in another part of Maiduguri.
Terrified civil servants have vacated the secretariat while schools around the area have been closed with parents rushing to evacuate their kids.
