UBTH Dismisses Report Of Ize-Iyamu Testing Positive To HIV, Warns Politicans To Leave Institution Out Of Propaganda.

The management of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) has dismissed a report that it, at any point, tended to the candidate of the APC for Edo election, Pastor Ize-Iyamu, for HIV or any other illness with a strongly-worded rebuttal warning politicians in the State to leave the institution out of its propaganda.

Two senior consultants of the Teaching Hospital who addressed the news crew when they stormed the hospital to verify the report making the rounds that it had been treating Ize-Iyamu for HIV said the report is fake as Ize-Iyamu has never been a patient in the hospital.

They said: “Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has never been a patient in the hospital and has never been admitted in the Hospital or diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.”

“We do not have any doctor by the name Dr. Lizzy Oghenerume. The report is fake and its content is completely false.”

They further appealed to politicians in the state to “stop using the name of the Hospital to disseminate false propaganda against opponents.”

Independent investigations by newsmen following the dismissal of the report by UBTH revealed that the mentioned Lizzy Oghenerume is actually a 22-year-old campaign staff of the Obaseki Campaign Organization in Egor Local government Area of Edo State who finished secondary school in 2018.

When contacted, she denied the story and claimed her name was falsely used without her permission.

“I have never been a doctor and I do not work at UBTH. I don’t know why they are using my name for this thing and saying things that I never said. Please, the report is not true. I don’t want any trouble. I never said this thing they are saying I said. I am not a doctor and I have never been,” she said.
