Umahi Calls For Greater Collaboration, Salutes Ebonyians On The Democracy Day Celebration

Governor David Umahi on Friday reaffirmed that democracy is people-centered which has endured for 20 uninterrupted years in Ebonyi State.

He recalled that since the inception of democracy, the people have heaved a sigh of relief in the state.

Governor Umahi explained that within the last five years of his administration, significant milestones have been recorded and more democratic dividends are in the offing.

These mileages covered so far according to him is attributed to the overwhelming support from the people.

While calling for greater collaboration and synergy between the people and the government, Governor Umahi argued that faith, courage, team-spirit, and patriotism are critical drivers for its actualization.

“It is with a sense of gratitude to God almighty and you my people that I celebrate this auspicious occasion of our Democracy Day amidst the pandemic.

“It may interest you to know that the mileages covered so far by our Divine Mandate administration is large because of your faith, support, team-spirit, and belief in our government.

“That our Democracy has endured within the last 20 years is because we believe that it is the government adjudged to be of the people, by people and for the people.

“It is this understanding that has made us put our people first in everything we do.

“We are aware that developing a state is not an easy one but with God on our side, we have been able to hit the ground running in terms of good roads, Shopping Mall, International Market, Ultramodern Virology Centre, World-class Recycling Plant, Streets lightning, Ecumenical Centre, Human Capital Development, engaging the youths in the art of governance, provisions of loans and grants and lots more”.

“I assure you that within the remaining part of our administration, more significant mileages will be covered for the greater good of our people.

“I urge you to keep the faith and continue to support us”.

“Our Democracy has come to stay and its dividends are for the greater good of all”.
