Former Governor of Ebonyi State and Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Sam O. Egwu, has warned former People’s Democratic Party, PDP Chairman in the State, Barrister Onyekachi Nwebonyi to desist from act capable of causing commotion in the State.
In a statement made available to 9News Nigeria , personally signed by Senator Egwu on behalf of Ebonyi PDP National Assembly Caucus, the lawmakers asked Barrister Nwebonyi to focus on his new party, the All Progressives Congress, APC and stop parading himself as PDP Chairman since the National Working Committee of PDP dissolved the Former Executive Committee of the party in the state since Umahi’s defection.
Senator Egwu noted that since their dissolution, PDP has inaugurated a Caretaker Committee chaired by Chief Fred Udeogu and has since resumed duties.
9news Nigeria recalls that Barrister Onyekachi Nwebonyi had suspended eight Lawmakers from Ebonyi State over Anti-Party activities.
Senator Egwu further said that since the National working committee of PDP has inaugurated new Caretaker Committee, Barrister Nwebonyi doesn’t have the powers as member of the APC to middle in the affairs of the PDP in Ebonyi State.
